What drugs do doctors give to treat vertigo? No other symptoms. Just chronic severe vertigo in an otherwise healthy normal adult.

I have the stuff at home, don't remember the name of it, but it made me VERY sleepy. Interestingly though, I discovered kind of by accident two things that were causing my issues with virtigo. The first one was that I was dehydrated. When I was first given that information, I didn't believe it because i drink 7580 ounces of water every day and a body only looses 64 ounces a day. However, because I am also Type 2 diabetic, the water was not getting to my cells, allowing them to be hydrated. That meant the results were the same as not drinking enough water. Magnesium and potassium were suggested as a supplement and the issue was resolved in two days - no more virtigo.

However, I still did, occationally, have a very weird thing happen. It was like my vision would flip up and then back to normal really fast and the room would spin for just a split second. In May I had an emergency triple by-pass. I have not had that issue since then. I believe it was a lack of oxygen to the brain from blocked arteries that was causing the latter issue. So, get your cardio system checked out carefully as well.

I know this will sound silly...but I was sitting a minute ago, and all of a sudden, I started seeing the computer just like Jimmy Stewart saw the case of stairs in the movie, Vertigo. It was like a zoom in and zoom out motion, I kinda felt dizzy afterwards...is that vertigo? I kinda felt my head/the corner of my eye near my nose bridge throb. What could it be?

i have heard that it can be caused by stress. we just got into a pretty big fight this morning, so that could be it. she says that she extremely dizzy, and whenever she moves the dizziness and nausea gets really bad. this is the first time she has ever had it. i have also heard that it can last for months. is that true?

the other day my doctor proscribed me stemetil for vertigo. she said that if I took one when I go home I might not have to take another one for weeks. Just take one when it gets bad. but on the bottle label I got from the pharmacy, it says take 3 times a day. I did what the doctor said.

should I stay doing that, or take it 3 times a day?

always do wat the doctor says for he knows you and the problem you have rather than the instructions on the bottle represent a generic measurement of dosage

i always hear a ringing in my head(when its quiet_
not sure what ear

sometimes my eyes goes werid and feels dizzy and like my vision isnt good for like 3secs. happens when sit to stand or while standing.

sometimes i hear like a short song (dont listen to song alot) then like 1min after i hear it but it isnt on. (when its quiet)
im a young teen so im kind of shy
if i say i have a ringing noise in my head will he no what it is? or keep asking question?

Ask your Doctor about Meniere's syndrome. It is a problem with your inner ear pressure. He will send you for an exam, you will be induced vertigo, so they can read your eyes.

Also, ask your Doctor about an MRI of your brain just to make sure nothing strange is there.

I was diagnosed with Meniere's. Then a second opinion and after the test showed up that it was just a virus.

You do not want ot have Meniere's because eventually you will lose your hearing.

I dont know what it is but from the second i woke up this morning i have felt like im spinning and about to fall over. right when i first jumped otu of bed i coulnt walk straight or see straight and i felt like a drunk. then in first period i randomly fell out of my desk all of the sudden and when i fell it felt like the world had just tilted and i was being pulled down by gravity. all day i have been feeling all dizzy...
also i have been eating all day. although i was running too late for breakfast i had a chicken sandwich sunchips and milk for lunch and i came home and i had applesauce and goldfish and three HUGE glasses of water.
also also
i have a head cold and i have a really bad cough. IDK if that has anything to do with it. and i have eyeball headaches right now so i cant really focus on one thing and it hurts.

i havent ever had very good balance i fall over all the time and i have problems with depth perception. just thought you might like to know

Sounds like the cold could be the culprit. You could be starting an ear infection, that can most definitely throw you off. I have vertigo also. It just shows up when it wants to. I have maybe 3 bad days out of the year. My migraines also cause me to get dizzy. Many factors. I would go see a doctor to make sure it isn't an ear infection. They can give you meds for it to help you.

I woke up with what my question says. I got in a car accident 5 years ago, had benign positional vertigo for about a year and that was the last time i got vertigo. This morning i woke up and have been sick all day with vertigo, nausea and diarrhea. Are these related? What can cause this? How do i get rid of it?

I wish I could say I treat hundreds of vertigo cases every year but the truth is that I don't get a chance to see as much as I would like. You see I am the last resort for most patients and they find me by chance. Many of my patients travel to me so I am working hard to train other doctors to do my methods. First and foremost, the myth about Vertigo has to be busted. Vertigo is not the other name of dizziness. Dizziness and vertigo are entirely different. Vertigo is a condition where one feels a spinning sensation even when stationary. This is associated with problems of the inner ear and sometimes, vision problems. It could get very serious if left untreated. Medication is not the only cure. A much safer way to treat vertigo is through vertigo exercises. There are many simple vertigo exercises that one could carry out. But it is best to take a professional's advice before practising anything.

Firstly, the reason behind vertigo must be figured out. There are many movements that may trigger vertigo such as sleep positions, craning your neck to look up, et cetera. One must avoid doing all these and try to make sure that their sleeping positions aren't very stressful. One of the simplest vertigo exercises is as follows:

- Sit upright on your bed, feet to the floor.- Close your eyes and jerk yourself to one side of the bed so that that side is flat on the bed now.- Tilt your head upwards and let the vertigo pass.- Come back to your sitting position.- Repeat the second, third and fourth steps for the other side of the body.

This has to be done 5 times each in the morning and evening until you stop experiencing vertigo.

One has to stay calm and composed to ward off vertigo. Vertigo causes too much discomfort that can be relieved by following some more vertigo exercises like the one mentioned next:

- Loosen up. Ease your eyes and muscles of the tension.- Stand up. (This is to balance your body so that you can stand in one position without feeling the spinning sensation for about a minute or two.)- Sway your body from both sides, maintaining you balance. Don't do this frequently if the attack keeps going out of control.- Turn 360 degrees, maintaining your balance still.- Try walking in a straight line. (This could be very difficult for vertigo sufferers as even those who don't suffer from vertigo face dizziness after doing this).

Again, taking the doctor's advice before starting any vertigo exercises is recommended. If nausea and vomiting prevail, exercises must be stopped and the doctor must be consulted for medication to curb the nausea.

These vertigo exercises are very effective and helpful but one must be sure to stay calm at all time. Take a slow start because many exercises can cause nausea and/or vomiting.

I've had a couple of episodes where the room is spinning (just like bed spins) when I open my eyes in the morning but before I sit up. It becomes a slight dizziness or light headedness after I sit up. I had a really bad episode of spinning that caused me to vomit all day. My doctor said it was Labrynthitis (sp?) which is a temporary inner ear disease and gave me an antibiotic. It went away after a few days. But it has been a couple of days since I finished the antibiotic and I am light headed A LOT. I especially feel it if I change my focus: for instance looking from the keyboard to the computer screen. I noticed that I anm making more typing errors than usual too. I have a mild headache around my eyes and cheek bones. I obviously need to go to the doctor again but should I see some kind of specialist? What type of specialist? I am 44y/o and do not drink/drugs.
It is worse when I sit still, better when I am moving. WEIRD!

I would say you have vertigo, but I am not your doc. Make your appointment, and ask him/her about vertigo. It is common.

Vertigo occurs when there is conflict between the signals sent to the brain by various balance- and position-sensing systems of the body. Your brain uses input from four sensory systems to maintain your sense of balance and orientation to your surroundings.

Vision provides information about your position and motion in relationship to the rest of the world. This is an important part of the balance mechanism and often overrides information from the other balance-sensing systems.
Sensory nerves in your joints allow your brain to keep track of the position of your legs, arms, and torso. Your body is then automatically able to make tiny changes in posture that help you maintain your balance (proprioception).
Skin pressure sensation provides information about your body's position and motion in relationship to gravity.
A portion of the inner ear, called the labyrinth, which includes the semicircular canals, contains specialized cells that detect motion and changes in position. Injury to or diseases of the inner ear can send false signals to the brain indicating that the balance mechanism of the inner ear (labyrinth) detects motion. If these false signals conflict with signals from the other balance and positioning centers of the body, vertigo may occur.
Common causes of vertigo include:

Inner ear disorders, such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), Ménière's disease, vestibular neuronitis, or labyrinthitis.
Injury to the ear or head.
Migraine headaches, which are painful, debilitating headaches that often occur with vertigo, nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light, noise, and smell.
Decreased blood flow through the arteries that supply blood to the base of the brain (vertebrobasilar insufficiency).
Less common causes of vertigo include:

A noncancerous growth in the space behind the eardrum (cholesteatoma).
Brain tumors and cancer that has traveled from another part of the body (metastatic).
Immediate medical attention is required if vertigo occurs suddenly with loss of function. Vertigo that occurs with loss of function in one area of the body can indicate a problem within the brain, such as a stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA).

Alcohol and many prescription and nonprescription medications can cause lightheadedness or vertigo. These problems may develop from:

Taking too much of a medication (overmedication).
Alcohol and medication interactions. This is a problem, especially for older adults, who may take many medications at the same time.
Misusing or abusing a medication or alcohol.
Drug intoxication or the effects of withdrawal.
Although dizziness can occur in people of any age, it is more common among older adults. A fear of dizziness can cause older adults to limit their physical and social activities. Dizziness can also lead to falls and other injuries.

I have had that or the BPPV for the past 6 days. I vomited repeatedly for the first two days. My doctor prescribed me amoxicillin and meclizine...but I am not feeling any better. I still feel dizzy (like the room is spinning around me) and if i try to look at an object, it looks like it is moving; my balance is off, I can now slightly walk around my apartment whereas at the beginning I had to get my husband to help me move around. I have already missed 4 days of work due to this...I can't drive and the medicine is blurring my vision...

Any one else had this problem? What did you do? Please help...

They thght I had labrynthitis several yrs ago but it turned out to be something else. I'm amazed you have been out of bed at all! With me it was MS but vertigo is vertigo no matter what is causing it, and it's nasty! I called my particular experience - Vertigo From Hell! I'm sure you feel the same about yours. Your vision problems cld also be caused by the labrynthitis. I have spoken with ppl who had labrynthitis & besides having a very bad week of it, it lasted about 2 wks & then they had the odd moment of dizziness or vertigo for a wk or 2 after. So you're just about nearing the end of it. Oh you cld try taking a B complex with your meclizine. It might make all the difference. My pharamcist told me to do this when I have trouble with vertigo. It certainly can't cause you any harm. I hope this helps. I really do feel for you.

Vertigo is considered to be a complicated disease. Vertigo means spinning or revolving. This name has been derived from latin.

The people who are affected by vertigo feel that everything around them keeps moving. Even when standing still the person who is affected by vertigo feel that they are moving.

The inner part of the ear is very much important for humans and mammals to maintain the balance while walking and standing, it doesn't mean if it's two legs or four legs. The vestibular factor in the inner ear is considered to be maintaining the balance of the body.

The person who are affected by vertigo will have problem when walking and also standing. The other effects of vertigo is vomiting and nausea.

The major reason for vertigo is considered to be benign paroxysmal position vertigo and vestibular headache. We shall see them here:

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo:

In labyrinth the crystals of calcium is present. They do not move and these crystals are in fixed position. Labyrinth is situated in the interior part of the ear

What happens here with the affected person is that these crystals gets disturbed and moves to semicircular canals. But the regular location for these crystals is in utricle. Basically, the posterior canal is far more affected to this situation.

When a person have benign paroxysmal positional vertigo the eyes of the person rotate in the direction of the damaged ear. Apart from this dizziness, vertigo, visual defect are also some of the major symptoms.

Canlithiasis means that the fluid in the inner ear of the person gets dislocated. This reveals how severe is the condition

Vertigo itself forms to be a reason here. Vestibular migraine is also the major reason for the cause of vertigo.

Thus, here the main problem is not vertigo it is the migraine. But the person who is affected decides that he is affected by vertigo. The increase of vertigo due to migraine is the real severe fact in this.

A latest research has identified a connection between migraine and vertigo. People who have unidentified vertigo have 2.5 times more chance to succumb to migraine.

More than this, they will also have symptoms of dizziness when having migraine pains. The other minimum causes are vestibular neuritis and meniere's problem.

A person gets short term effect of vertigo when he consumes huge quantity of alcohol.

Kinds of vertigo

Vertigo are considered to be two types. They are identified based on the location it affects in the working of vestibular pathway. Normally, the two different kinds are peripheral and central.

Peripheral pathway:

This is also known as vestibular system. Peripheral type of vertigo is a kind that affects the working of the inner part of the ear.

Benign paroxysmal positional dysfunction is considered to be the regular reason for this kind of vertigo. Superior canal dehiscence syndrome, labyrinths and visual vertigo are considered to be the other reasons.

And also when a person's skull gets injured that may lead to vertigo too. Vertigo is also caused by bacteria that grows due to cold and cough.

Central Vertigo:

Whereas, central vertigo is linked with a neurological system of our body. This occurs due to the damage in the brain and not due to the problem with inner ear.

As this does not involve the interior part of the ear, central vertigo is not as severe as the other kind of vertigo. It may result in loud less speech, not able to speak clearly and irregular movement of eyes are due to central vertigo.

Heavy sweating, not able to walk steady and excessive vomiting are due to the result of vertigo. When vertigo is not given due care with treatment it may lead to irreparable damage to the nervous system of our body.

I believe you meant to say VITILIGO:

Because VERTIGO is:

a sensation of whirling and loss of balance, associated particularly with looking down from a great height, or caused by disease affecting the inner ear or the vestibular nerve; giddiness.

NOTE: As you can see, Vitiligo is relatively common.

This is my 1999 GT Vertigo, It is completely original and is in excellent condition. I've always liked this frame's similarity's to the GT Show, the resemblance is mainly in the swooping top tube. I just recently sold this bike on Ebay, another nice bike I say good-bye to.

No, they tried that on Myth Busters and it was busted. They did however say taking ginger root pills before you travel does relieve sickness/vertigo.

How To Choose The Best Vertigo Exercises

The sensation of movement of yourself or your environment is termed vertigo and is one of the most common reasons that people visit a doctor. Many conditions can cause this dizziness or vertigo feeling. For example you could have light headedness or a more significant condition like a tumor. Among the most common causes that is called benign positional vertigo also known as bppv. This article will discuss treatment of this type of vertigo with vertigo exercises.

Regrettably, it is popular that bppv or benign positional vertigo is usually treated with some form of medication. While this approach can lessen the symptoms of the dizziness or associated nausea it fails to fix the real cause of the problem. Next we will talk about the real cause of this type of vertigo, the reason medication is not a good treatment and how vertigo exercises can help you.

The vertigo referred to as benign positional vertigo is said to be triggered by particles or debris that are loose within our balance organs. Semicircular canals are the proper name for our balance organs and they are found in our inner ears. They contain a fluid like substance, which when we move will activate little tiny hair like receptors. These receptors send messages to our brain to inform us about what direction we are moving in. The loose debris or particles interfere with the receptor messages to the brain and therefore we may feel an increased sensation of movement, thus the feeling of vertigo.

To fix this problem we need a solution that takes away the loose debris so the receptors can work properly again. Drugs or medication will not do this. What they do for this condition is suppress your nervous system so you do not feel as dizzy or as nauseous. So in reality the problem of the loose debris is still there, it is just your nervous system is depressed by drugs and the symptoms don't feel as bad. Medication is only treating the symptoms in this case and not the cause of the problem.

The solution to fix the cause of the problem is vertigo exercises. Unfortunately, it is common that patients are given the wrong type of exercises or told how to do the correct exercises wrongly. Commonly patients are given what are called habituation exercises. Exercises that heavily stimulate your balance organs and which over time the goal is to create an habituation response where your system is stronger and better able to deal with the vertigo. Once again not really fixing the problem, but at least it is a natural attempt at dealing with the symptoms. This should be the second choice of vertigo exercises for people, but for some reason these are often given as the first choice.

The best solution to this vertigo are specific vertigo exercises that move the particles or debris to a safer place. In this safer place they will not affect the receptors so much in the semi circular canals. This approach corrects the root cause of the problem of the loose debris or particles and does not just mask the symptoms. When done properly these exercises are very effective and safe.

There are other drugs that can be tried for vertigo(meclizine, dramamine) but they may also have the side effects of fatigue. If it is helping your vertigo stick with it a little longer to see if your body becomes tolerant to it.

On May 31, 2010 around 8AM or so, I experienced a severe sense of vertigo. This was followed shortly by extreme nausea and ultimately vomiting. I slept through most of the day after that, but the feeling of vertigo never really went away.

Here's the weird part. A friend of a friend experienced the exact same symptoms around the same time for the same duration of time. We don't share anything in common except geographical location and the fact that we are both male. Since this was so weird for the both of us, I began to wonder if anyone else experienced this sensation. Anyone?

I recently went to an amusement park and went on some roller coasters when I got home I had the usual vertigo of still being on one that comes with it. However, I also have a headache and don't have any medications. Thus if I close my eyes to help my headache my vertigo clicks on and if I stay awake my headache stays on.

I sufer from extreme virtigo and alot of time mine come hand in hand with headahes as well. Unfortunately there's not alot you can do without medication except you need to find the position where your virtigo is the least active like on your back, on your side then close your eyes. The vertigo might stay or worsen for a moment or two but it will eventully calm down and this might help your headache as well. Again unfortuanely this will not help as much as medication would.

Hi everyone!!!! My name is Andra and I am in desperate need of advice. I am going to a hotel school and I am currently doing an internship in a hotel in Spain. I chose hospitality because I am good with people and because I knew I couldn't survive with a routine office job. They placed me in the Call Center of the hotel, because they needed people that would be able to do this kind of office job rather than have me serving. I have to be on the phone all day and with my eyes in the computer. Recently I have experiencing nausea, severe headaches, dizziness, neck, shoulder, back pain, double vision, slow refocusing. It's a 2/2 office, I am claustrophobic, I feel like I am suffocating in that space every day. I have never had vision problems before...I didn't find any understanding from my supervisor, saying that she doesn't like her job either and she refuses to change me.I went to the hospital, he gave me medicine and told me if I still feel bad I should go see a neurologist. What should I get from the doctor's to send it in human resources?!because I can't go on like this...I feel miserable and I have to be there for 5 more months. Heeeellllp. Thank you so much.

Well, the first thing is to discuss these problems with your employer. Spain is in the EEA, so I imagine the regulations for treatment of workers and working conditions are similar to the U.K. They should listen to your problems and try and find a way to help reduce them, such as making sure you have regular breaks etc.

I can't give you any useful medical advice, but if you're miserable and your health is suffering, then quit. Nothing is more important than your health and wellbeing.

I had a bout of vertigo last month, but after two days on AntiVert, it went away. However, I keep getting little "relapses" or sudden onsets that will last a few moments. They did a CT scan at the hospital and said there was nothing wrong. But can this recurring vertigo be a symptom of something worse? I still have flu-like symptoms as well.

I started having dizziness that is best described as vertigo about three days ago. I woke up with it and had to sit through my exams on that first day with it bothering me. Around nightime, it went away... The second day I also woke up with the vertigo, but it went away in the afternoon and returned early in the evening! Today I woke up without vertigo but it cropped up late in the morning, and now I just feel slightly disoriented...

The vertigo is not severe, but I am disturbed because it comes up for no apparent reason and goes away just as suddenly. It does not seem to be brought about by sudden movements (i.e. getting up, looking down, etc.), and I don't believe it's symptomatic of BPPV. It disturbs my concentration and I still have a few days of exams left...

Anyone with a possible diagnosis? I've heard low blood pressure (but I'm 16 with 112/75...), ear infection(BPPV is unlikely), bad nutrition (unlikely considering I have a good appetite)...

Iron deficency test: Go to the mirror and pull your lower eyelid and see if the color is red or flesh color. If its flesh colored you are lacking enough iron and should take a herbal iron like Floradix. It will take a month to see a difference. Iron carrys oxygen in your blood and if you dont have it you will feel tired, cold hands and feet, headaches, RLS, dull brittle hair, brittle nails, poor sleep, pale skin (see thru), shortness of breath, fatigue, poor concentration, low mood, ringing in the ears, cracks in the corner of the mouth, dizziness, fainting, sore tongue and canker sores oh and pale mucous membranes in lower eyelid.

You may also have an inner ear infection. And a good appetite doesnt mean you have good nutrition because you could be eating junk food.

What Are The Symptoms Of Vertigo?

Symptoms of vertigo are one of the most common reasons for seeking medical attention and advice. Vertigo is said to be the illusion or hallucination of movement, usually a spinning or rotational feeling of either the environment or yourself. If you have every been on a merry go round ride or as a child spun around in circles a lot, then you would know what it is like to experience the feeling of vertigo. Together with this feeling of dizziness, you may also have experienced lightheadedness, unbalanced, a headache and nausea or sickness in your stomach. It is important to understand that dizziness or vertigo is not a disease but often a symptom. Symptoms of vertigo can be caused by a range of conditions from non-serious conditions to more serious conditions like vascular and neurological causes.

Vertigo or dizziness is experienced when there is a problem with our equilibrium. Inside our inner ear are semicircular canals filled with fluid. Inside the canals are tiny hairs that are receptors and detect the movement of our head. This information is then sent to our brain so we know about our movements. Armed with this understanding of how equilibrium works we will now review the most three common forms of vertigo that are benign positional vertigo, labyrinthitis and Menieres disease.

Meniere's disease is a severe form of vertigo. Due to the fact that many sufferers may not seek medical help, there may be more people with the disorder than we know about. The cause behind this vertigo is an increase in the amount of fluid that is in the semicircular canals. Together with severe vertigo that can last hours to days, people will often experience ringing in their ears, fullness or pain in their ears, sickness in the stomach or vomiting. Medication is used to manage the condition because there is currently no cure for it.

When a part of the semicircular canals called the labyrinth becomes inflamed it is termed labyrinthitis. This is usually caused by a virus of some type and will not respond to antibiotics. The inflammation will result in the fluid becoming thicker and therefore disrupts the signals of our balance. People will experience vertigo together with potential headaches and sickness in the stomach with a general feeling of being off balance. Vertigo of this cause is short in duration and usually occurs for seconds to minutes.

The number one cause of vertigo is called benign positional vertigo or bppv. This is caused by debris in the semicircular canals that affect the hair receptors and result in misinformation being sent to the brain about our movement. This disorder is triggered by specific head movements such as rolling over in bed, looking up or bending forwards. The vertigo feelings are short in duration and only last for seconds. Luckily there are some safe solutions to this problem without the use of drugs or surgery.

Our balance is often taken for granted, until it is lost. Symptoms of vertigo or dizziness can be the result of many things. Listed above are 3 very common causes of vertigo, with the problem of bppv or benign positional vertigo having a safe solution available.

This is a timely subject, as not only the H1N1 virus (swine flu) is wreaking havoc on people, but don't forget that other influenza viruses are still very much alive and well. Although they aren't as famous as H1N1 right now, they can be just as ravaging to one's physical well-being.

The symptoms that commonly occur with flu virus are headache, fever, chills, muscle, nausea, vomiting and some times it is accompanied by Vertigo

Vertigo is not very much fearful as some people associate it with a Alfred Hitchcock movie. In simple words vertigo can be called as simple dizziness. People who fear heights might have experienced dizziness as a symptom but one can be sure that it do not cause their fear.

Flu or sometime common cold can give you a symptom of vertigo. This symptom is known as vestibular neuritis ans also as labyrinthitis or viral labyrinthitis. This viral infection is caused in inner ear affecting the nerve cells in inner ear.

Symptoms of vestibular neuritis, whose onset generally begins within a few days or weeks of contracting the flu virus include the aforementioned vertigo as well as nausea and a "spinning" sensation.

This condition does not affect the hearing even though the inner ear is affected.

For most people, symptoms dissipate within a few days but can, in some cases, last for a few weeks. Bed rest is generally prescribed until inner ear balance is restored. Vertigo treatment drugs are sometimes prescribed but one should be aware that their side effects can often times be worse than the condition they are meant to treat.

Treatment for flu viruses can include anti-viral medications, antihistamines and decongestants, depending on your symptoms. Keep in mind though, that even over the counter drugs can have very serious side effects, especially if you have a pre-existing condition such as heart disease.

If you are taking heart medications, they generally don't interact well with flu treatment drugs and can cause symptoms of both conditions to get worse.

The best thing is to avoid virus totally. This is quite impossible as we do not manage other people's hygiene habits. The best thing to do is clean your hands for 30 seconds continuously when you wash your hand.

Avoid touching your mouth, nose and eyes as much as possible. If you have to cough or sneeze, you should do it into the sleeve of your arm, not your hands.

Flu shots may also be recommended by your doctor but keep in mind that they take two weeks to protect and even then it's not a guarantee that you won't catch the flu virus. Because the virus that is injected is dead, there is no chance for catching the flu but there are side effects including chills, slight fever, rash and while rare, Guillain-Barr Syndrome if one is allergic to egg products.

In the meantime there are two ways to help the patients: a Palliative treatment (a treatment that helps to relieve the symptoms), and Curative treatment for some types of these medical conditions, such as infection, benign tumors or Metabolic Abnormalities (Dr. Z. Shemesh from the Hadassah Hospital approach).

Hypnotherapy, meditation, biofeedback and hydrotherapy are known therapies that help the sufferers to relax, but are not curative. Pet assisted therapy may be included in the therapies that induce relaxation, and even more then that.

Out of the long list of pets, dogs and cats are far more popular among those who wish to raise their pet at home. Horses are preferred by people who like open spaces for their therapy. I gave a higher priority to dogs because of their popularity and variable dog breeds and types that are available today.

Pets can be classified to trained and untrained animals. The trained animals study how to be calm, gentle and well mannered, especially around rambunctious children. The untrained pets should be basically calm with gentle nature and have a people-oriented personality. They must love attention and petting and not be shy. In addition, the trained and untrained animals need basic obedience training and should be conditioned to sudden noises. These pets are going to have a more spontaneous adaptation to their owner. They provide an invaluable service to those who are lonely, abandoned, or ill; indeed, anyone who needs the miraculous healing that can arise from a hug and a gentle touch.

When the owner of the pet is sick, many of the pets have the intuition to do the right thing.Pets truly have the power to heal their owners, especially the elderly. The most serious disease for older people is not cancer or heart disease, but loneliness.

The decision of choosing the right animal for a patient is hard. There is no logic, for instance, in taking a 75 year old man who never had experience of riding horses, and put him on the back of a horse. It is risky, and even anti therapeutic for such a patient. Even if you offer him a good tempered horse. The pet assisted therapist should be professional.

Important component of the clinical picture in the sufferers of Tinnitus, Vertigo, Dizziness and Meniere's Disease is their anxiety, stress and distress. Various therapies may include relaxation, but Pet Assisted Therapy may contribute much more then that. Dogs:The dog is considered the best friend of man. It is a well known slogan. It may help sufferers from various medical conditions such as chronic pain, Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, patients who need neurological rehabilitation, post MI patients, post surgical condition, especially orthopedic, and recovery from depression. Relief of anxiety and depression.

Small dogs are good because they can be lifted easily and fit even on the smallest laps. A large dog makes a good companion for someone in a wheelchair, sitting patiently and allowing the occupant to stroke his fur. Dogs have high intelligence for emotions and genuinely want to provide companionship and comfort. When needed, they are both intuitive and compassionate. They love almost everyone without any degree of rejection. You can not refuse to play with this friendly pet when he comes to you.

I looked for scientific trials with "Pet Therapy" for the sake of sufferers from Tinnitus, Vertigo, Dizziness or Meniere's Disease, but the only "PET" that I found in the search engine was: Positron Emission Tomography.

HorsesTherapeutic Horseback Riding is a form of physical therapy for people who have a range of disabilities including physical, emotional, cognitive, and social difficulties. Because the gait of a horse when walking is a gentle, repetitive movement, it moves the rider's body in way that is very similar to the human gait; physically disabled riders often achieve greater flexibility, muscle strength, and balance. This type of therapy can improve balance, posture, mobility and reactive time.

I chose to present this kind of therapy because of the availability of farms with trained horses, and the accumulation of experience in this therapeutic approach. No offense to all the other good riding animals such as donkeys, camels or elephants.

Therapeutic Horseback Riding can benefit people with a wide range of individual challenges and disabilities, including:

Orthopedic Disorders: Amputation or Spinal Cord Injury.

Neurological Disorders: Brain Injury, Seizure Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson's Disease Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Spina Bifida, Stroke patients, Visual and Hearing Impairment, Speech Impairments.

Emotional Disordres: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Extended Grief, Anxiety attacks and Phobias.

Others:Cardiovascular disabilities

The Therapeutic Horseback Riding allows participants to build social skills and self- confidence through interaction with the horse, other riders, and the teachers in the farm. The Riders enjoys the benefits of community integration while physically gaining strength, confidence, and communication abilities. The key words are probably "the psychological energy that they gain".

It is important to remember that horseback riding may pose a hazard for patients suffering from vertigo or dizziness for as long as they are in the active phase of their disease. Recovering patients, on the other hand, may benefit from horseback riding by regaining and increasing the confidence in their balance and stance following the trauma and fear of falling.

This article is not offering the Pet Assisted Therapy as the only means of managing Tinnitus, Vertigo, Dizziness and Meniere's Disease. It is important to do every effort to find a curative medical treatment.

The Pet Assisted Therapy should be considered as a complementary therapy, based on the wishes of the sufferer and his intuition regarding this approach. Prolonged symptomsMay have behavioral effect after the disappearance of the basic medical condition, and the sufferer of Tinnitus, Vertigo, Dizziness and Meniere's Disease should undergo Rehabilitation in addition to any other treatment.

I would be happy to receive responses of sufferers who tried to imagine this kind of therapy for themselves or have a real experience with pets.

U2's Revolutionary Show at Hampden

U2 will play a spectacular, revolutionary concert at Hampden Stadium on Tuesday 18 August. The Irish super-rockers return after 4 years to the first country outside of Ireland to embrace them and promise a first-of-its-kind show that will stun audiences worldwide. U2 will bring old classics back to Scots fans as well as showcasing new songs from their hit album No Line On The Horizon, already proven to work well live.

No Line On The Horizon

Sonically, U2's new album has all the classic and staple U2 sounds: Edge's hypnotic arpeggio rhythms and soaring solos, Bono's passionate voice complemented by anthemic backing vocals, and a tight, heavy rhythm section. There are no weak links. Every element of the album has contributed to its success: classic songwriting, expert musicianship, and one of the best production teams in the world in Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno.

U2's 12th studio album, No Line On The Horizon, received a mixed reception by fans and critics. In spite of this, it went to number 1 in 30 countries and has achieved platinum status in many of them. This is not to say that it is a poor album; it just didn't live up to the record industry's expectations. There are many theories as to why it hasn't sold as many copies (although it has still sold millions) as its predecessor All That You Can't Leave Behind or Viva La Vida by their "world's biggest band" rivals Coldplay.

The Australian arm of Universal Music accidentally leaked the album which impacted sales, and the online music site Spotify were given permission by the band to stream No Line On The Horizon at no charge to listeners. Entertainment Weekly blame it on the album having no immediate radio hit single, although this may be due to stations and DJs deciding not to play it.However, it was the number one album in 11 counties on iTunes and is on course to become one of the best-selling music downloads ever.

There's no doubting that No Line On The Horizon is a huge album and, in spite of a relatively huge response, one of U2's many strengths is their ability to sell albums well over long as well as short periods of time, and No Line On The Horizon is sure to stick to this trend, especially on the back of it being performed live over the next 18 months.

The 360 Tour

The 360 tour live shows promise to be the biggest in the history of live music. The big talking point about the latest tour revolves around the stage design, which the band describes as "revolutionary". The all new, innovative stage was designed by the same creative team that were behind the ZooTV, Popmart, Elevation and Vertigo stage shows.

It features an "in-the-round" style stage, nicknamed "The Claw", giving every member of the audience an unobstructed view and will enable the band and fans to get closer to each other. Only football stadiums are suitable to house the massive spaceship-like structure (which, at 164 feet tall, is twice as high as the former largest stadium stage set, built for the Rolling Stones' A Bigger Bang tour), and because of its innovative design, venue capacities will be increased by 15-20%. Surrounding the higher part of The Claw is a cylindrical video screen, which will show seamless 360 degree real time video footage of the band onstage.

In response to rising concert ticket prices and the tightening of purse strings everywhere, the band made a concerted effort to keep prices low, to ensure that everyone who wanted a ticket could afford one.

Although U2 plan to return to play a second European leg in 2010, it's not certain whether they will return to the UK.

What Can Fans Expect?

U2 fans already know the new material works well live following their energetic and vertigo-inducing 20 minute mini-set on the rooftop of the BBC's Broadcasting House in London back in February, and can expect more of the same on the 360 Tour. With killer new and classic songs, their awesome new stage design and the Hampden crowd in full voice, there is no doubt that U2's August gig will be the biggest and best of the summer.
